The cogito foundation would like to know how the gap between the cultures came to be about, what caused it and how it developped. What has been done so far to bridge it and how successfully? What else could be done?

Research proposals that address such questions are welcome. Projects that require a real interdisciplinary research cooperation among humanists and scientists may also be funded as a means to address the practical side of these questions.
