As an example of successful cooperation between the humanities
and science let us look at Archeology: Radiocarbon dating of prehistoric
finds has originally not been accepted by the archeologists, yet
today it is - together with other physical dating methods - one
of the pillars on which archeological research rests. Conversely,
historically dated samples have pointed to flaws in the physical
foundations of the dating methods which might have led to inaccurate
interpretations.
