No, the problem can only be solved by dialogue - primarily between
the academics and between the cultures of knowledge. The gap between
these cultures is a symptom of an illness. The cultural state of
our society is disturbed. We are one humanity and we have one body
of knowledge. The two cultures are like the two hemispheres of one
brain, a brain that seems to lack a corpus callosum. We have to
get the two halves to cooperate.
The arts don't help. Who writes the sonnet on the self organized
systems? Which ballet emulates the dance of the Cooper pairs? Where
is the Big Bang Musical, and where the mystery novel about the selfish
genes?
